Dr. Yasser Said, MD
Triple Board-Certified Physician
About Dr. Yasser Said
Dr. Yasser Said is a triple board-certified physician in Internal Medicine for Adults, Pediatrics, and Pediatric Hospital Medicine, offering an unparalleled depth of expertise to patients of all ages. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Chicago (2009), Dr. Said specializes in managing complex medical conditions, including obesity, hypertension, diabetes, congestive heart failure, cardiovascular disease, COPD, and other chronic illnesses. His extensive experience also includes care for patients with dementia, strokes, and genetic disorders, making him uniquely equipped to handle intricate health challenges.
One of Dr. Said's standout qualifications is his proficiency in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS), a cutting-edge diagnostic tool. As one of the few primary care doctors in Illinois who regularly incorporates POCUS into his practice, Dr. Said provides faster, more accurate diagnoses to his patients.
Dr. Said's care philosophy centers on treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. He believes in collaborative, patient-centered care, emphasizing shared decision-making to ensure treatment plans align with each patient's lifestyle. While he delivers honest and straightforward medical advice, his ultimate goal is to partner with his patients in a way that builds trust and ensures long-term success.

Professional Experience
Dr. Said's medical journey has been shaped by leadership and service. After serving as Chief Resident at UIC, he co-founded the Hospitalist program at DuPage Medical Group (now Duly) and later held leadership roles at Advocate Health. He is also an inductee of Alpha Omega Alpha, a prestigious honor society for physicians. These experiences deepened his understanding of the critical role that social and home environments play in patient outcomes.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Said volunteered to treat patients in the Intensive Care Unit at Christ Hospital, often under the most challenging conditions. There, he honed his resourcefulness, provided comfort to patients isolated from their loved ones, and developed a profound empathy for those enduring unimaginable suffering.
His global medical experience spans six countries, and his multilingual abilities—English, Spanish, and Arabic—allow him to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds. Growing up on a small ranch in Washington state and attending medical school in Philadelphia, Dr. Said's upbringing and training enabled him to relate to patients from all walks of life.
Personal Approach to Care
Dr. Said's approach to medicine is deeply personal. Caring for his late father in 2023 gave him firsthand insight into the emotional, physical, and mental toll that caregiving can take on families. This experience strengthened his resolve to provide compassionate, patient-focused care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Said is a devoted husband and a proud father to three young children. His family, along with his mother and siblings who also live in Illinois, remains his greatest source of inspiration and strength.
With Dr. Said, patients receive more than expert medical care—they gain a compassionate advocate who understands that health is about more than diagnoses and prescriptions. It's about living fully, with dignity and support at every step.
